Spring Show 2010

Paige did an awesome job at the Spring Show! I was lucky enough to be able to leave work Friday night and at least watch her perform. I must say that I got a lot of strange looks when I was wearing my scrubs though! Paige amazes me with her skating. I can go around the rink, but that's about it. Not only can she skate, but she can also ride a trike with skates and a dress. Impressive!

On Saturday we had an early morning practice and then headed off to the airport to pick up Mike's Mom and Burny. It was so nice to see them and grandma spoiled the girls! We watched her performance on Saturday as well. I was able to see most of the show, but I helped out in the locker room so I didn't get to see all of it. One day I will remember that it is not a good idea to wear flip flops backstage. I think I will lose a toe one day if I don't! Too many girls with sharp blades on their feet! It was nice that Grandma Holt was able to come and watch 4 of her great granddaughters skate.

On Sunday we had a nice dinner at Mike's Grandma's house and we celebrated Grandpa Art's Birthday.

MS Walk and More Sailing

We had another great MS Walk this year. I'm so proud of my friend Amie. She is such a trooper and looks for the positive in things, I wish I had more of that! This year she has done a bunch of interviews on the radio and TV about MS. She really makes a difference. Last year we were the largest team with 80 team members. This year we more than doubled it, last I checked we had over 175. Unfortunately we weren't the largest team, maybe next year. :) It was great to see so many people get involved for such a great cause. I'm so happy that my brother, Greg, Carly, and their kids joined us. My friend Nic from work also came and brought a few of his friends.

After the MS Walk we had our annual lunch at Squatters. My mom and Denise joined us. It was great because it was my mom's birthday too. Happy Birthday Mom! The big 60.

After Squatters we headed out to the lake and went sailing again. The little ones did pretty good considering they had been out and about all day long! Unfortunately Paige got sick and ended up throwing up when we got back to the dock. At first I thought she was seasick, but I think she got the flu bug that Alli had on Friday. Luckily it only lasts about 12 hours.

We also just booked our tickets to Tortola. I'm so excited to go!!! It will be nice to do some diving and just relax with great friends and family. The only hard part will be leaving the kids! However, it is a much needed vacation for Mike and I. We haven't seen each other very much lately. Here are some pics of where we are going......

This is where we will be staying. Our good friend Carly's mother owns the house.

Bonk!!

So I was sitting at the cafeteria at the hospital when I got this picture titled, "Ouch!" This was the picture attached.......

When Mike and Alli were waiting for Paige to finish ice skating Alli was running and her head got ahead of her feet. She took a header into the brick wall. Poor thing! Mike said she only cried for about a minute and then she was fine. She was not thrilled with the ice pack and threw it across the room. She also got a peppermint patty from the rink because they felt bad for her. She loved it!

Luckily it looks better today.....

This is the first big fall of many I'm sure.

Diving and Sailing

We had another fun weekend and I was so happy that the weather was nice. On Saturday night Paige had two of her friends sleep over. They did makeovers on each other and then walked on the "cat walk". It was so cute and I'm glad they were able to come stay with us.

On Sunday my brother needed a victim for his Search and Rescue scuba class. I decided to go help him out and Robin was there to watch the kids. After my attempt at acting like a drowning diver and being rescued we headed out to their sailboat. The weather was great and the wind was enough to keep us going. We had a little BBQ and then headed back in. It was so nice and peaceful, minus Alli screaming from time to time. The kids really love being on the boat. This year Alli fits in the life jacket, but I can tell you that she is definitely not a fan of it!

The only thing that would have made the day better is if Mike was there. They have started the shutdown and he worked three shifts this weekend. We missed having him there. Paige kept saying, "I wish Mikey was here!"

Allison can now snap and feels pretty cool when she does it. Unfortunately, when she wants something now she starts snapping and I'm not sure I like that. It's still cute though!

Lots of Pictures

We have had another busy week. Paige has been skating a ton getting ready for the Spring Show and with the school year coming to an end the school has had a lot of fun activities. On Friday we went to the school early and had their celebration for raising money for their Read-a-thon. IHOP was nice enough to sponsor a pancake breakfast. So after eating some yummy pancakes the kids headed outside and watched the principal go up in a hot air balloon and sing the school song at the top of her lungs. She then threw candy out to the kids.

On Sunday we were supposed to go sailing with my brother to get ready for Tortola, but the gusts of wind were too strong so we ended up going to the Living Planet Aquarium. They have a new penguin exhibit. The kids had a lot of fun. Alli and Paige love touching the stingrays.

I love this lobster, it is so huge! I wonder what the market price would be for this guy?

Paige is a little taller than an Emperor Penguin......

....Alli still has a ways to go.

After the aquarium we headed up to Mike's dad's house and had dinner and sat in the hot tub. It was fun, the girls love the hot tub!

On Wednesday Alli and I went with Paige's school to the zoo. I love going on the field trips. Alli loves hanging with the big kids, it doesn't matter where we are.

Now we are looking forward to Mike's mom and Burny visiting. I'm so glad they will be here to see Paige skate in the Spring Show. I'm also looking forward to the end of the Semester, only a few more weeks to go!

Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter Weekend. I wish the weather had been a little warmer, though. I am so tired of the snow! I look forward to our vacations this year and that keeps me going. I just need to find a way to get all the time off work. :)

On Saturday we had our annual Easter Egg Hunt at my mom and dad's house. Once again the guys had to shovel the backyard, but we still had fun. The kids got lots of little treats and toys. Even Alli found some eggs.

This is Alli and her best buddy Katie.

The three muskateers...

Paigey and Bennett

She loved carrying her basket around.

We colored eggs after the egg hunt. Allison decided to play basketball with an egg and tossed it into the purple dye. This was the result......... Luckily we have granite counter tops. :)

Paige and her best egg

This was Allison's best egg. Paige had to help her so it didn't end up across the room.

The finished product.

On Easter morning we waited for Mike to come home from Kennecott. Then the girls found the eggs and their Easter baskets that the bunny hid. Allison's was in the dog kennel and Paige's was in the bathroom vanity. That silly bunny! The girls got lots of stuff from the bunny and everyone got a new outfit. The girls looked so cute!

After that we headed to Easter brunch and after a long wait we were finally able to eat. The kids love the chocolate fountain and the dessert table. I have to say I'm pretty fond of the dessert table myself.

Then we headed back to grandma and grandpa's to see the Easter baskets they had for them. The girls got piggy banks and lots of candy. Allison got a little golf set and Paige got some jewelry. My mom always has the greatest Easter baskets!

For dinner we headed to Mike's dad's house. I am bummed because I forgot to take pictures up there, but I did get this one of a tired puppy on the way home. Abby loves to run with their dog Max. They are pretty much non-stop!
