Our Anniversary

Mike did it again! He surprised me with an amazing Anniversary.  He booked two nights at the Stein Eriksen lodge, which is where we stayed the night after we were married.  We headed out on Friday and stopped at the Park  City resort where we rode the Alpine Slide, Zip Line, and the Mountain Coaster.  The coaster was so much fun! I took a picture on the way up, but didn't dare on the way down.  I thought I would lose the camera for sure.  We grabbed a snack and walked around Main Street for awhile.  We had dinner at an amazing sushi place and then headed up to Stein Eriksen.  I absolutely love that place, the service is unlike any I have ever had.

We arrived at the hotel and the bellman helped us with our luggage and radioed the front desk so we didn't wait more than 30 seconds to get checked in.  Our room was amazing! When we got to the room there was about 5 people in there doing our turn down service.  I loved the robes and slippers! The bellman went out on the balcony for a second and when he came back in he stated that the hot tub was all ready to go.  I remember thinking, wow the pool is right outside our room.  I was wrong, we had our own hot tub on our balcony!

Saturday we went to the spa and had a couples massage.  I love their spa.  The massage was amazing and then we stayed there for a bit so we could take advantage of the sauna, steam room, and hot tub.  After the spa we rode one of the Deer Valley lifts that was right outside our room and took some pictures from the top.  It was beautiful and hard to believe that it was that warm and there was still a little snow.  We went back to the room and changed for our private wine tasting.  The wine tasting was amazing.  I learned so much about it and found out what I really liked.  The woman who did the wine tasting, Cara, knew her stuff and had a passion for wine.  When we were finished there we headed to dinner at the Glitretind restaurant.  The food was amazing, but the service was even better.  Cara was there and poured us the wine we liked at the tasting before we could even look at the wine menu. She pretty much picked Mike's meal for him too.  It was delicious.

It was a great weekend and I loved the peace and relaxation! Thanks Mike, you are amazing!

Boise

This month we made a trip up to Boise to watch Matt and RJ in the Boise Half Iron Man.  They both did a really great job!  I wish I had the determination that these two have.  I wish I liked running too, but I just don't like it.  I had never been to anything like this so it was really interesting to watch.  Unfortunately, the weather was pretty cold so the girls and I missed the swimming portion.  I would have really liked to see that. So to avoid the cold we went shopping instead.
The girls loved staying in "the travel home" and of course loved the pool.  It was a great weekend and I'm glad we were able to get away and spend it with family.  We don't get to see RJ and Shaun very often (except for Skype) so it was great to hang out with them. Maybe I should start planning another trip to DC!

Miss Paige is 11!

So I'm late posting this, but Paige turned 11! I can't believe how fast the time has flown and that my sweet little girl is growing up.  Where has the time gone?  Paige had a great Birthday this year.  She chose to go to the Cheesecake Factory for her Birthday dinner.  We also had a family BBQ and she had a friend party at the rink.

Here are a few things about Paigey:

She...

  • Loves figure skating, singing, dancing, and horses.
  • Just started scuba lessons and is convinced that we need to take her to Tortola.
  • Is loving, stubborn, smart, and usually a goof ball.
  • Is a great big sister.
  • Knows lyrics to songs after hearing them once and loves all types of music.
  • Has started teaching herself the piano.
  • Is the best traveler I know. She gets through airport security like a pro and never has to go to the bathroom on the plane. Unlike her mother....
  • Is not a morning person.
  • Wants to be a vet when she grows up.
  • Always wants a new animal. Now she wants a chameleon.
  • Is perfectly balanced. She is all girly girl until she sees a bug and then she has to capture it to study it.
  • Is a very good student. The teachers always love her.
  • Is loved very much by her family.  We are so proud of her!
Here are some pics from her Birthday.

What a slacker....

OK. I am a slacker.....

I have been horrible with the blog these past few months.  Well, 4 months to be exact.  Between my job and the regular every day stuff my head is spinning.  I really like my job, but it seems to change weekly or in some cases daily.  Every week I seem to have some new task or new area to manage.  I'm not sure what my job description would look like, if there even was one.
My plan is to catch up slowly but surely with the blog.  So here it goes.....

It's funny that I'm finally posting pictures of snow while it's 100 outside. We had a great Easter full of candy that I still can't seem to get rid of.  We had an egg hunt at my parents and a very nice Easter Brunch at Market Street.

Abby was invited to a Birthday Party.  It was my first dog birthday party, but it was cute.  Abby had a blast at the dog park. However, she wasn't very happy when we got home and had to brush out all the burs that were in her legs.

Paige performed in the Spring Show. Nice job Paigey!

The end of April and first part of May I went to a conference for work.  Albuquerque was an interesting little town.  I know that a lot of people love the desert, but I'm not a desert kind of gal.  If there is going to be sand it better be white and surrounded by turquoise waters and palm trees.  Amy Rolof was our guest speaker.  She had some interesting stories.  All in all it was a pretty good conference.  I learned a lot, but let's face it.... surgical instrument sterilization isn't the most exciting subject.

We had another Spring Show.... This one with a violin....

And Paige and her friend Abby won the class talent show contest and performed at the school talent show.....

She also graduated from DARE.... The jazz bear showed up with the confetti cannon and silly string.  I think the kids were half asleep from the speeches from the Mayor and Police Chief so they were really surprised.

And last but not least....... I got my hot tub!!!!

I still have a lot of catching up to do with Boise, Birthdays, and our Anniversary.  Maybe tomorrow......
